Everglades Fishing – Captain Ned Small

Michigan Boys

Filed under: Everglades Fishing — Captain Ned Small @ 2:42 pm

It’s windy, but the water is clear and the skies are bright. The offshore wind and low tide at midmorning are providing plenty of shallow water. Blair Walton and Bill Cameron haven’t caught the fly fishing bug yet but their fishing experiences in Michigan translated easily through the ultra-light spinning tackle we used for sight fishing reds today. We didn’t get as many shots as we’d hoped for but they made the most of every chance and caught several nice reds from the Islands out front. That’s Bill CameronĀ andĀ Blair Walton, these boys ‘got it done’ Everglades Style.

Tom Hartman’s Typhoon Bay Red

Filed under: Everglades Fishing — Captain Ned Small @ 2:40 pm

Tom Hartman has had the foredeck over the past few days sighting red’s and snook all day, every day. The weather has been fine with gentle off shore breezes and the tide has been low at midday giving us excellent, day long conditions for sight fishing. We’ve had dozens of opportunities for both red’s and snook. Here’s Tom with just one of the many red’s he tangled with on the flats of Typhoon Bay.
