Winter is upon us and the cold fronts are marching through. Gulf temperatures have finally dropped over the last couple of weeks and snook are once again moving into the ‘way back country.’ We’ve been making more trips into the headwaters of Lostman’s River and down the Wilderness Waterway, we are seeing some big snook in the shallows back there but getting them to bite is a challenge. There should be an improvement in the fishing over the next few weeks as the fish adjust to steady wintertime conditions. Here’s John Frohnhoeffer with a red from Radish Key in the backcountry above Lostman’s.
