Flats Redfish

Filed under: Everglades Fishing — Captain Ned Small @ 3:25 pm

Gulf temperatures are steadily increasing, bouncing from the high sixties to low seventies and the fish are beginning to respond. We’ve been catching some nice snook and the tarpon are here although windy conditions are dogging our attempts. For just plain fun, pelagics are getting active; mackerel, ladyfish, jacks, spotted sea trout and the occasional pompano. The full moon is approaching, we’re sharpening the tarpon hooks and tying extra leaders. Here’s Stuart Bradow with a red he sighted on the flats north of Everglades.
